Congratulations to Brett Mills on completing his Masters in Quantity Surveying with flying colours!
Brett is 25 and from Ramsgate, he is a former trainee of Pettit Construction Management, that was encouraged by Pettit Group MD- Simon Pettit to look into a career in Construction.
Brett had recently completed his BSc in Sport Science and was weighing up his career choices following completion of his BSc in Sports Science. Following career advice from Simon Pettit, Brett was brought into the company as our first Trainee QS, assisting with BoQ’s, payment applications, tender returns and CVR’s. In return, the company assisted Brett with the opportunity to gain key construction experience, assistance with enrolment on to the Masters course via the University College of Estate Management and study assistance where required.
Brett has completed his course through distance learning, whilst working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor full-time, which meant he gained invaluable on-site experience reinforced by his study and vice versa.
Brett’s initial involvement with Pettit’s was more than two years ago and we are proud to see, he has since stepped up to become Qualified Surveyor with a UK housing giant and is progressing at a rapid rate, taking on more responsibility as his experience grows.
This is the type of success story, that has driven our new campaign ‘The Great Kentish Upskill’, taking people with drive and determination and assisting them in fulfilling their potential via Civil Engineering and Building training and career advice.
Pettit Group are involved in some of Kent’s largest projects and our directors see the above example, as one of the best ways to leave a lasting legacy in the Kent County following completion of construction projects.
Well done Brett, everyone at Pettit’s are extremely proud, you’ve worked hard for it!!
More details on ‘The Great Kentish Upskill’ scheme, will be announced shortly at www.pettitsgroup.com
