East Kent College Group are meeting the current and looming Construction skills gap head on with a Civil Engineering and Building Construction Summit at Discovery Park this May.
With a growing construction skills gap, and Brexit likely to see many workers leave the UK, East Kent College Group have set a date for a Civil Engineering and Building Construction summit to discuss developing a collaborative approach with industry partners to ensure Kent can keep building. New homes, infrastructure and places of work have never been of greater importance, but to build them the construction sector needs a steady supply of skilled employees.
The EKC Group believes the best way to unlock Kent’s potential growth is through partnerships between education and industry. Developing a pipeline of highly skilled workers is key to ensuring the construction sector can prosper, and our county’s economy can continue to flourish. However, there needs to be genuine collaboration, with industry working in partnership with education to deliver the best results.
Pettit Group are proud to be partnering the college group in developing Civil Engineering and Utilities courses, utilising our strong links to Civil Engineering academia and professional institutions.
The breakfast time Construction summit will take place at Discovery Park, Sandwich on 9th May at 07.30am and will be wrapped up by approximately 08.45am.
